What the episode covers
- Who issues what in Chicago. Several city bodies have a say in an outdoor event, and knowing which one issues which approval saves a fortnight.
- Where the restroom numbers come from. None of those bodies hands you a restroom count, so the episode works through where the number actually comes from.
- Placement does more work than count. The right number of units in the wrong places still produces queues; where they stand matters more than most site plans allow for.
- Chicago site conditions that change the plan. Park turf, hard standing, service access and distance from the nearest vehicle route all move the units.
- Season by season. A July festival and an October one do not get the same plan.
- Standard, deluxe or restroom trailer. When a trailer earns its cost, and what multi-day events need that a one-day event does not.
- A timeline that works backwards from gates open. Delivery, placement and the last service window before the first guest arrives.
